Two days in Bariloche

We sat on the stony lake beach savouring this wonderful view

We’ve spent the last 48 hours enjoying the touristy town of Bariloche; it’s the staging post for backpackers to the south.

Lakes, forests, beer distilleries and lots of chocolate shops attract the Summer visitors from Buenos Aires and just down the road is the most prestigious hotel in Argentina (Llao Llao). We sunbathed, hired some bikes, listened to live music in the square, and went out for dinner to celebrate Roger’s birthday.

There’s a lovely relaxed feel, with beautiful flowers everywhere and a strong Swiss and Germanic influence with Alpine style buildings. This corner of Argentina is very different to expectations.
