Formosa – on the banks of the Rio Paraguay

In Formosa, we’ve managed a couple of walks along the promenade of the Rio Paraguay and lunch in a riverside restaurant but that’s about it. It’s simply too humid and hot.

But watching the huge cargo boats on the river from the shade of a palm tree, with a bottle of water in hand, whilst writing emails and reading isn’t a bad way to spend the afternoon.

The river and its newly built walkway and cycle track give the residents a good exercise experience at the end of a hot day. A nice change after the noise and pollution of Salta.

In the midday heat, a queue for ferries to Paraguay and cheap shopping
